Understanding Individuals with TBI
This training presents a general overview of traumatic brain injury, the incidence, prevalence, causes, signs and long term effects of brain injury. An emphasis on why a greater understanding of traumatic brain injury can benefit the helping process. Ideas are shared where one could learn more about traumatic brain injury. The audience will receive state-wide and national resources for traumatic brain injury.

Training Credit:Continuing Education Units, or CEUs, are required by many professional licensing or certifying bodies. Therefore they are a valuable commodity to professionals who may be attending this Outreach and Education training. The application and approval of CEUs varies for each professional group and can require a great deal of documentation. - provided with an explanation of traumatic brain injury, as well as causes, effects, and prevalence.
- familiarized with the signs, symptoms, and long-term effects of traumatic brain injury.
- provided with an understanding of how more knowledge on traumatic brain injury is beneficial in the helping process.
- given suggestions on how service providers and/or interested individuals and organizations can gain more experience and knowledge on traumatic brain injury
- given information on accessing the resources available in Alabama for working with persons surviving traumatic brain injury and their caregivers.
