This presentation briefly describes the incidence, prevalence, causes and basic effects of brain injury on seniors, along with a general overview of traumatic brain injury. Prevention of falls and available resources are discussed.

Therefore they are a valuable commodity to professionals who may be attending this Outreach and Education training. - provided with an explanation of traumatic brain injury, as well as causes, effects, and prevalence.
- familiarized with the incidence, prevalence and causes of traumatic brain injury in seniors.
- familiarize with the mechanism of brain injury and its effects on seniors.
- provided with methods for preventing brain injury and falls in seniors.
- given information on accessing the resources available in Alabama and nation-wide for working with persons surviving traumatic brain injury and their caregivers.
